As a Rio Olympian, I have dedicated my career to elite-level swimming, specialising in sprint events. My experience includes competing at the highest levels, which has shaped my coaching philosophy. I focus on technique, mental resilience, and tailored training programs to maximise each athlete's potential. My goal is to empower swimmers to achieve their best while fostering a positive and supportive environment.
I made my first Olympic team after winning the 100m breaststroke at the 2016 Nationals in a time of 59.57seconds, just 0.08 under the Australian qualifying time. In Rio, I combined with David Morgan, Mitch Larkin and Kyle Chalmers to take home bronze in the 4x100m medley relay. The USA grabbed the gold in 3:27.95 while Great Britain took silver in 3:29.24. In my individual event, I finished fourth in my semi-final of the 100m breaststroke. I grew up in Noosa and started swimming at the aquatic centre when I was 11. I trialled for the London Olympics at 17 but didn’t make a semi-final. At the time I thought four years wouldn’t be enough time to prepare for Rio so began focusing on the Tokyo 2020 Games. A year later I was thinking about retiring from swimming but instead moved to train with coach Chris Mooney, who was working at Indooroopilly at the time. It was a risk which paid off. I went on to finish fifth at the 2015 World Championships in the 100m breaststroke and also won silver in the 4x100m medley relay.

We are thrilled to train with Jake. He was very patient with my son. Good judgement with the training that suited him. We are looking for sessions in the future, even to fly from VIC, all worth it.
