Coaching Bio

I am a passionate and driven elite athlete looking to inspire and develop the hockey community. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours) full time at UQ. In 2022, at just 18 years of age, I made my debut for the Hockeyroos (Australia’s National Women’s Team) in a Trans-Tasman match against New Zealand, before selection in both the Women’s World Cup (Bronze medalist) and Commonwealth Games teams.

*I am currently unavailable for coaching* I grew up in the regional town of Mackay in North Queensland and began playing hockey for school, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary, at the age of six. My passion for hockey grew from there and I made many memories both on and off the pitch with friends. My elite ability was evident as a child and at the age of 10, was selected in my first Queensland team where I represented the U12 Queensland School Sport team. I made my debut later that year at a competition held in Hobart and since then, have represented the state at U13, U15, U16, U18 and open level. A significant milestone in my career came when I was 16; I received a phone call from the head coach of the Brisbane Blaze asking me to compete in the inaugural Hockey One League. After some strong performances for the Blaze, I was selected to represent the Jillaroos (Australia’s U21 team) in a tri-series event against Japan. Throughout COVID-19 affected years in 2020 and 2021 that saw many tournaments and events cancelled, I continued to work hard on my performance and focused on schooling. Despite these disruptions in my journey to becoming an elite athlete I still managed to attend many junior National Championship events and was named captain of my team and was successful in receiving multiple individual awards and team accolades. I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors, keeping active and also having a good conversation whilst sipping some hot coffee!
