Coaching Bio

In 2019 I was a member of the Australian National Junior Squad and played for the national junior team (The Jillaroos) for the past 4 years. I was also a member of the NSW Pride team, competing in the new Hockey 1 series at the end of 2019. Along my hockey journey I have accumulated a lot of hockey knowledge which I am keen to pass on to others through both hockey and mentoring sessions.

*I am currently unavailable for coaching* I started playing hockey in Scone when I was about 12, and continued to play in the country until I left school. During school, I competed in various state and national teams including the Australian All Schools team, and various NSW junior teams. After school, I moved to Sydney in order to pursue my hockey career and further my studies. Since moving, I have been a consistent member of the NSW Institute of Sport, as well as the 1st Grade Sydney University team, where I am co-captain. In addition to playing hockey, I have also coached for the past 4 years at various schools for both indoor and outdoor hockey. I have a passion for sharing my knowledge with students and watching them improve. It is because of this passion, that I have recently received my Level 2 coaching award, and thus am keen to share my experience. I am someone who is incredibly passionate about hockey specific fitness, and believe it to be of utmost importance to an individuals performance on the hockey field. I can integrate hockey specific fitness drills into my sessions if this is an area you are keen to develop in. Additionally, I also highly value mental strength when it comes to performance. In 2016 I tore my ACL and was out of the sport for over 12 months. Having been through this tough period, I really understand the importance of resilience and a strong mind and am happy to pass on the tips and tricks that I have developed in order to get back to the elite level through mentoring sessions. I am available for both individual and group sessions on both grass and hockey turf depending on your preference. Please note that a turf fee will need to be paid additionally directly to the venue upon arrival for the session. Grass sessions will not require an additional fee.

Naia had a great time extending her skills, learning new ones and being inspired by Alice's commitment to excellent hockey fundamentals. She'd love to do more sessions with her and round up more aspects of her game and gain an edge to her peers age-group wise :)

The coaching session with Alice was given to me as a gift, I have never before had a one on one coaching session. Alice was amazing!! She planned a skill session to help me improve specific areas of my game. I was able to learn so much in just 1 hour ! Alice was super easy to communicate with and I really felt that she was really focused and energetic during the session.
